Outreach

In collaboration with the NSF-funded C2PRISM Program (computation and communication: promoting research integration in science and mathematics), the Pre-freshman Summer Academic Enrichment Program, the Center for Pre-College Programs, and the CCS High School Programming Contest Program, we work as mentors of high school interns on a variety of bioinformatics research projects. The interns are encouraged to apply to our bioinformatics program. We also present our research results at local K-12 schools and C2PRISM-sponsored workshops. Such presentations are used as a vehicle for raising public awareness of bioinformatics and computational biology.
